Security blanket

The other day, I signed up for online account access for one of my credit cards. AFTER verifying my identity with the full card number, the security number from the back of the card, and the standard security question you'd be asked if you called the company, as part of the account-creation process I was required to pick three additional security questions, one from each of the following lists.

(This from a company that sends out floods of spammish e-mails that, except for including the correct card number, look exactly like phishing attempts, even down to having URLs as hyperlinks' link text that don't remotely match the URL in the href tag--not even the same [sub]domain name!)

The company labels these questions as "difficult to guess", but they reminded me so much of a MySpace meme that I had to share.

Security Question #1: Select One
What is your spouse's nickname?
Last Name of your kindergarten teacher?
What is your hobby?
What is your youngest sibling's nickname?
What is the last name of your childhood doctor?
What is the last name of the most famous person you've met?
What is your favorite flower?

Security Question #2: Select One
What was the name of your first roommate during college?
What is your favorite television show?
Other than where you live, what's your favorite city?
What is the last name of your favorite teacher?
If you needed a new first name, what would it be?
Who is your favorite musical group?
If you could control your height, how tall would you be?

Security Question #3: Select One
What is your most unique characteristic?
What is the most unusual job you have had?
What was the last name of your first grade teacher?
Name the highest mountain you've been to the top of?
Name the place you'd go to on your ideal vacation?
What is the name of your favorite novel?
What is the last name of the funniest friend you know?

(And no, I'm not telling you my answers.)
