Writer's Block: Cover me

Which songs have been covered better by artists who didn't originally sing them?

The first few that come to mind are:
• Bananarama, Venus (orig. by Shocking Blue)
• Jimi Hendrix, All Along the Watchtower (orig. by Bob Dylan)
• Echo & the Bunnymen, People are Strange (orig. by the Doors)
• The Ventures, Walk Don't Run (orig. by Chet Atkins)
• Synergy, Classical Gas (orig. by Mason Williams)
• The Bangles, Hazy Shade of Winter (orig. by Simon & Garfunkel)

Most of those originals are also good in their own right, but the covers are better.
